Welcome:

On behalf of the Governors, staff and children I welcome you to Awliscombe Church of England Primary School.

Our school is very much a family community where Christian principles are important and all relationships are based upon respect. We encourage children to be independent, courteous and considerate as indicated in our school motto 'To think for themselves and to consider others.'

Our Vision is of a school where Jesus is our role model and every child

  • loves learning
  • achieves more they thought they could
  • knows they belong
  • serves their community and
  • cares for the natural environment

We believe that these aims will build the foundation for the children in our school to cope with all that their future lives will bring. We strive to provide a happy learning environment, and are proud that the children tell us that we achieve this.

Our friendly, purposeful atmosphere, where good manners and the good behaviour of the children are apparent, provides a positive environment where children's individual needs, talents and abilities can be recognised and nurtured.

We are proud of the above average results that we achieve and of the local reputation we enjoy, both which are certainly due to the hard work and care from staff, supportive parents, dedicated governors and, of course, enthusiastic and responsible children.

We strongly believe that your child's education is a partnership between school and parents. As a school we are committed to developing this. It is by working together that we can encourage your child to develop a positive, lively attitude to learning I hope you find the information on our website useful and informative, but the best way to find out if we are the right school for your child is to visit the school to look around, and to meet the children and staff.

Please do not hesitate to contact me to arrange a visit if you would like to take this partnership further.

With best wishes,

Mrs Gill Kendrick - Headteacher
